G35c Rear Tint Problem - Help!

I got my G35c tinted 20% all around about two weeks ago. The driver/ passenger windows look great, however the rear window near the matrix dots area is all messed up. At first, I thought it was just typical air bubbles but then after a week they didn't go away.

So, I went back to where I got my tints done and they told me: in those areas where the matrix dots are, you have to get a rear vinyl strip over it.

The strip costs $20 so I went back once more today to get it done. Now, I realized it was a solid black strip that would cover the upper area of my rear window from the outside. Ultimately, I held off from doing this because I did not feel it'll compliment the look of the car.

My question, has anyone else had this problem with the tint? If so, what are some other solutions/ tips?

Am I the only one who experienced this problem?

Is it reasonable to ask them to re-do my back, or will the outcome be the same?

Most likely if your tint guy didn't get it right in the first place, then they aren't going to be able to fix it the second time around. Getting tint to stick to the matrix is a skill tinters learn over time, and if they didn't know how to do it the first time, I wouldn't want them testing new techniques on my car, especially something as risky as sanding the dots. I would ask them to remove the rear tint, and find a shop that has experience with the matrix. My tint guy got mine almost perfect without sanding. Theres just a few spots where it didn't stick to the matrix but its hardly noticeable from further than a couple feet away

My guy used the black vinyl on that area, he said he never puts tint on the dot matrix area of any cars.

If he said that then you should have walked out then. There are many tinters who are experienced with tinting matrix, and vinyl is never a good solution. All vinyl will fade over time so its not a permanent solution. Take it somewhere else

Okay, so. I went back to my tint place and asked them to re-tint. My brother got his tints done there and his rear windows looks great, but then again he doesn't have huge matrix dot area.

However, they weren't able to re-tint correctly, so they put the rear-vinyl strip on. My first impression... then . So finally, I came home showed my brother and friends and their reactions were the same.

I just took of the strip, yes it was just stuck on there.

redlude, if you could check your PM that would be great.

A good tint shop should have no problem with this. My tinter has a special glue for the difficult dot matrix cars. My Dodge has dot matrix on the top of the front windshield & he did a visor for me. It looks grear from tie inside & outside.

I called my salesmen at my local dealer and he directed me to a company that does tints for the actualy dealership.

They have no problems with the rear matrix dots. So I'm going to get my tint re-done, properly.

Here is what u need to do to fix the problem. This works on fresh tint (less than a week).

1) Take a credit card, put a wet soft cotton cloth over the credit card.
2) From the inside, hold the CC like a nintendo controller and smooth out all the uneven areas on the matrix.

If you go over it few times all the areas will even out.

Here is a pic of mine after 5 min of work.
