rear splash guard GAP????

hello ppl... I need ur help plz...

I have 2006 G35c sports PKG and bought fron and rear splash guard from everthingg35.com..
I went to infiniti-nissan dealer to install them.
After they installed, I checked how they did and found a little gap on rear one
So, I complained about this and they said because the parts could be not a genuine... I believe everythingg35.com deal with genuine parts...They charged me about $202 CAD ( one and half hour)...

Anyone has same experience???

PLZ... help....
Thanks...~!!!

I bought my splash guard from the stealership. The 2 front took me 15 mins each. Would have been faster if it was in the day time. Did the 2 rear in the day time took about 1/2 hour each because have to jack up the car and take the wheels out. The stealer should take no more than 1/2 hour to put in all 4. The guy that did your rear splash guard probably messed up on that one. Make them fix it.

I think it took me an hour to put all 4 on as well. I didn't have to take any wheels off either - a dremel comes in REAL handy!

Damn what all needs to be done to install them? I ordered all 4 from mynismo.com and thought it would be alot easier to install. This seems like a PITA to install (jack up car, remove wheels etc) and time consuming just for splash guards...

Seriously, if you have access to a dremel, get a 90-degree adapter for it and you can drill the necessary holes with that without taking the wheels off. It is SIMPLE, and I was actually very impressed at how solid they felt once installed.

@jelly

I thought these are bolt on, did not see anything about drilling? Can you elaborate?

You have to drill a couple of holes in the existing wheel well plastic to insert a few plastic clips and those metal screws that screw into the metal clips (the kind you slide the clip onto the edge of the plastic and overlap the hole in the clip with the hole in the plastic, then you tighten the screw into the whole shabang). I can't say there were more than 3 holes drilled per splash guard, if not only 2 holes drilled.
When you are installing them, you put the splash guard up there to use as a template for the location to drill the holes. As long as you hold that sucker up there tight and drill good holes, then the installation should be a breeze and should give you a solid install.
In addition to the clips and screws, there is some 3M tape that holds them on.

Seriously, its an easy install. If you paid the $100 that my dealer wanted to install all 4, I'd almost feel sorry for you.
I'd do it for free as long as you bring a few beers for me to pass the time...

Got mine installed, went fine. Did not remove rear wheels, was able to drill top screw fine, left off the lower screws until I have a need to remove rear wheels, everything is secure and tight... Easy install do not pay someone to do it for you

You must use a good dewaxer or wax remover before putting tape on. Also, using a heat gun or blow dryer to get the surface warm before applying 3M tape is very useful!

Be sure to clay the area and then hit it with rubbing alcohol or prepsol! That will remove the wax and ensure a good seal!
