CF Hood, kinda worried.

I just put on my cf hood this weekend. I situation is that I haven't adjusted the hood lock so that the hood has no play at all, At 90mph is looks like it moves up a little. When I'm stopped I can lower the hood and raise it about 1/8 of inch. I'm going to adjust it on saturday when I put on my exhaust. but now another thing, I don't want to go over 100 mph cuz I'm worried about the hood flying up and hitting the window. I was thinking about get hood pins or locks, to secure everything. I was just wondering if anyone has heard some horror stories.

I have a seibon oem cf hood. I just got it, and dont want to f*ck it up.

90-100 mph with a hood that's not latched properly? Were you on the freeway? I hope there were no cars around you when you were driving, that won't be pretty at all.

But yes I have heard numerous stories about the hood popping open and smashing the windshield completely. I would fix it or get it fixed ASAP, that's very dangerous.

my friend's hook went up when he were driving 75mph. because he did not close down the hook properly. I think you do need the hook locks for your car, it looks good too. Can you post some pictures about your car?

take it to a body shop and have them reinforce it. the resin gets old and can crack easily after time.

hood pins are gross

There are alot of things that can determine whether or not you need pins/locks. If it is an OEM-style hood, the odds of it coming up are much less than if there was a scoop. The downforce from the wind will help keep it down but with the scoop, there is force coming under the hood which could be cause for concern.

As far as, "better safe than sorry", its true. You can buy locks that are flush with the hood, come in black, and you can barely seem them. The reason you see it moving so much is because of how much lighter it is than your OEM hood, so it will give more. I recommend getting pins or locks because of stories I have heard. I did research on this when I got my hood and thats the conclusion I came to. Good luck.

alright guys here you go.

I still have to ajust the hood. I just finished putting on the exhaust today. in the pictures the car needs to be washed and the hood needs a nice wax job.
