If its alot of snow i dont bother taking out my car because i got stuck way to many times last winter and learned my lesson lol but last winter i drove on my stock tires. I advise you not to take out your car even if its only a 1\4 inch of snow outside

I am considering this option. My stock 19" have two different sizes for front and rear. This isn't the case for OE 17"s are they?

Holy cow, I guess I won't be driving the G most of the winter then unless i get snow tires. Damn unpredictable mid-west weather patterns.

Lots of snow, so I bought an X and she wears Blizzaks in the winter. It's a winning combination.
Fun, fun, fun .

I was wondering the same thing, buy winter tires or an old beater and park the G.
I live in Canada. It can be clear out when I go to bed, then wake up to 6 inches of snow with 18 inch drifts!!!

And it can be -35(celsius) with the wind chill on a sunny day...!

I've got about 6 weeks before winter shows its true face.

IF I buy good winter tires and drive it like a hurse well I be ok with that??

Or buy a beater I can put in the demo derby at next summers fair....

If I remember correctly, you have a rwd sedan
From what I hear if you put a good set of dedicated snows all round on your car you should be fine. Blizzaks, Nokians, or Dunlop M3 snow tires work real well.

Wow looks I'm in for a hell of a time. I have 19s on my G coupe, no money to buy a beater, and no other wheels except for OEM 17s of which I only have 2 summer tires. I guess we'll see how Maryland treats me this winter.

wouldnt a beater and a set of snow tires be close to the same price....say buy an old 4x4 pickup....they are built like tanks and you dont have to worry about messing it up

Toyo Garit HT's on OE 17's. Never getting stuck is nice, but the real objective is to be able to turn and stop.

I bought a beater soon after I got the G. I got a 97 Grand Prix for $2000.

You can find really good deals right now on relatively new used cars. I'd suggest getting some midsize GM. They really are much more reliable than their reputation, and they are dirt cheap in the used market.
