Please help, lease price, is this OK

for a 06 sedan, silver/black premium package a/b navi....12k miles / year, 39 months.

299/month 5069.00 out the door. Normal is 3500 somthing out the door.

My dealer is the only dealer in Oregon and it is , so they say, one of the last 3 navi sedans they have.

What do you think. They say they are making nothing. I made the deal 2 months ago, and they are still honoring it.

Thanks a lot !

Why put so much down? Sure the payments are lower but you lose all that money if the car get totalled gap insurance doesnt recover that money it only pays the remainder of the lease.

I'm either going to pay up front for navigation at the dealer, or aftermarket.

However, what I was asking was if this was a fair deal?

hmmm... way too much down for a lease. if you have that much to put down, why dont u finance for a longer term to keep those monthly payments where theyre at and sell after 39 months, plus no mileage barrier

No way- I just got an 06 lease ta 39 mo. lease, about $425 a month with 1000 down. What is your cap cost? I got mine down to 32500. This is the amount that the dealership is "selling" the car at. Make sure you dont get slammed with useless options.

my gross cap is 34860.00. I have all premium options + Navi + Sat radio....

The original deal (as advertised) was $3500, 10k miles a year, 299 month, no options.

so I paid an extra 1500 to keep the payment the same, plus get prem. pack a,b, and c, navi, sat radio, and 2k extra miles.

I don't see how that is so bad? I would rather put down an extra 1500 dollars than have a higher monthly. I am a Realtor so when times are good they're good, when they're tough I have a low car pay.

FYI< my name is wrong, I bought the SEDAN, NOT COUPE

I understand where your coming, but 5K is a lot to put down on a lease in my opinion. If you were financing that would be totally understandable.

Now that I do the math.... after you pay $125.00 MORE than I do 39 times, plus the 1k you put down, that puts you at 5875.00 total cash out over and beyond the 299.00. That is $975.00 more than me. How is yours better?

Erin, if I didn't put down on the lease, it would have gone to the stereo shop for aftermarket navi, or rolled over into monthly payments. The lease deal was 3500.00 to start with. Same as Volvo's lease deal on their SUV, and a couple other lease deals out there I am sure. By lease deals I mean advertised, walk in, no haggle lease programs.

As stated before, if your car is stolen or totalled, you will lose your downpayment completely... In a lease, you want to put ZERO down.. Yes your pyments will be higher, but you take the money you would have put down and put it in a HSBC online, or ING Direct online savings account, and use that money+interest toward your heavier monthly payments...

Payments will come out to about the same..and you carry no risk

Yes, I could have put it in my Costco Capital One high interest money market account, but I just wanted to get it over with. That does make more sense though.
