yea i feel you...i used to drive on the freeway alot more before and id always see planks of wood on the freeway and pieces of tire...i wish people would be more careful about securing cargo...

Lol..i had this happen to me too. The bag melted around the pipe so i ended up scrapping it off with a knife and screwdriver.

My biggest fear too! +1,000,000 A piece of wood from a semi once hit my old car too!

Can I just say that this forum is amazing. I managed to freak myself out thinking that my engine was falling apart with that smell. I searched once on this forum, found this thread, went under my car with a flashlight, and found the dreaded plastic bag melted to my exhaust.

I don't know how I would survive with this car without g35driver.com. Thanks everyone, just in general.

it takes a long time for it to completely burn away. I couldn't stand drive around like that. I tried to chisel it off but it was already caked on

I had bubble wrap stuck on mine for a while it was annoying as hell and impossible to scrape off. After a couple weeks it just stopped smelling, its still sort of there but its all crispy and looks nothing like bubble wrap lol

One of those large 50 gallon rubermaid trashcans was kicked over 3 lanes right infront of me in the last second while I was bringing my Nova home from a show. Sucked it right under. Luckily no damage though Although I guess thats the benefit of having a 75lb steel bumper on the front of your car.
