I Hate Oakland

Hey forum...

So this morning, I was on my way to work. I stop at a red light on an empty side street and look in my rear view and BAM. I am rear ended by some old (born 1944) lady. To make it worse, she gets catty with me telling me that it was green. Um...hello meth *****, I have a stick and I didn't depress my brakes at the light. My fault for not stepping on my brake petal for safety's sake.

Completely her fault for ... not noticing 1) I was not moving as she approached from two blocks down 2) the light was red 3) for being a meth *****

When driving in OAKLAND, use extreme caution. Avoid EAST, WEST, NORTH... wait, avoid all of Oakland except Chinatown and Peidmont. Although, if you travel one block in the wrong direction of Piedmont, you might get shot or harassed. Oakland sucks. To make things even funnier, I was ONE BLOCK from the Oakland Police station. It took them 45 minutes to get to me. Granted, I know they have to deal with crime and things of higher importance.. but send me a meter-maid. I don't care, just take the report before this MW tries to escape!

Anyway, she hit me at 20-25 mph. The Infiniti took it pretty well, and the estimate for repair is around $2700. Just the bumper and some body panels. Hopefully, I'll see it in 10 days. Thank goodness for AAA, they had me on my way in less than 30 minutes with a claim, rental, and local shop to have it fixed.

Make sure the floor pan in back is not buckled...if so its going to be more expensive than you would think...
