Question Front window tint - worth it or not?

Hey guys,

I'm gonna get a clear bra on my car soon. I was wondering if its worth tinting the front window(clear) but blocks heat and UV.

even though its clear, there's still a rainbow reflection from certain angle. So you can still get caught or pull over for it.

I have never actually seen a car with front window tint before so I'm really sure how obvious it is.

So is it worth the risk? maybe some of you have done it. btw I know that front window tint is illegal, clear or not. So is front license plate but people do it anyways.

TEXAS is too HOT!!

I would definitely do it. Ive got 35% on my windshield, have no problem seeing at night, in the rain, etc, and almost never need sunglasses anymore. No glare during the day, no glare from headlights at night, the my car is cooler in the summer (south FL, I understand what you mean).

If you do make sure the front is lighter than the sides and it wont be noticeable unless someone really got up on it and looked for the edges of the tint.

I dont think I will ever have another car without tinting the windshield.

I just put a window shade in the window when I park. Its not worth it TO ME, to risk getting a ticket for illegal tint on the windshield. However, I don't know anybopdy with CLEAR tint on the windshield...most go 35%.

How much is the fine for a tint violation on the front windshield?

I don't want the front to be dark because it'll cause visibility issues.

And Yes there are clear window tints that just functions as blocking out heat and UV. They're more expensive...I know in Asia they're known as V-cool tint. But I don't really know if they're sold here or something similar.

Ok you're talking about the front windshield, not driver/passenger right? If that's the case, no tint is allowed regardless if it's clear. You may be able to get away with tinting the upper 5" of the windshield since it's already factory tinted. If you're talking about the driver/passenger windows, Texas law requires a minimum of 25% of light to be transmitted through the window.

SoCal's not as bad as TX but after tinted my windows 35%, it reduced the amount of heat in my car significantly!

thanks! I know its illegal, that's why I'm wondering how much is the fine for the violation to see if its worth it or not? Also what are the chances of getting caught with a clear front window tint

Texas is hot, and hot leather makes even hotter! yikes! we have 100 degrees days quite often.

Im going to say slim to none. How would you get caught? Do cops in your area go around and look inside windshields for the edges of tint?

A tinted windshield gives your car a totally different and much better look. I will never go without tinted my windshield again either. I love it. Makes all the other tints stick out and look much darker, its great.

i have 40 percent huper optik on my windshield

originally I wanted 70 percent, but the shop did not have any in stock

if you do the windshield, get HuperOptik SECT. its expensive, but it will block out more heat than anything else while being practically invisible
