I'm sure by now that we've all experienced the chronic streaking on the side windows. I've never really found a good way to clean it off without significant elbow grease, but last night I tried something different and it worked great!
I started by washing the car and obviously the windows. Then I took a bottle of Goo Gone, put some on a clean white cloth, and gently smeared it on the streak, both inside and outside the car. Let it sit for around 5 minutes, then wiped off the excess with the white cloth. Then I soaped up a washcloth and washed and rinsed the remainder of the Goo Gone off the window. I finished it off by cleaning the windows with Eagle One glass cleaner.
The streaks are completely gone! I know this sounds like a long process, but the important part is that it eliminated the entire streak (in the past I've only been able to minimize how much it shows) and it required little to no scrubbing at all!

Rubbing alcohol should clean up any grease, and no residue to have to wash off..worth a try. I find Stoners the best streak free glass cleaner.

That's the problem. It seems to only take a few seconds to cause it, but it has always taken a ton of time to undo it. Hopefully with this fix (or the ones others have suggested) it will go much faster in the future.Originally Posted by dream_G35
are you sure it wont come back after a couple lowerings of the window?
It's a big deal to me because the streaking issue is probably my biggest aggravation with this car.

Acetone and steel wool. Works great.Originally Posted by Dieselnuts

I use a microfiber dampened with soapy (Gold Class) warm water to clean, and a dry microfiber to buff. No issues.

I was going to suggest RainX or something, to keep the window slick and minimize the streak's adhesion... ...but what are using Hero?
When I Z8 my car, I use the residue towel to wipe the windows and then wipe with the clean buffing towel. Works on the outside, but I haven't tried doing this on the inside. Should help... ...some.

The streaking is a TSB you can get it fixed by the dealer. Mine hasn't come back since I had it done.

Nearest dealership is 3-3.5 hours away. It will take something big to get me in for warranty work... ...and I imagine it will involve a flatbed.
