I asked my dealer and they told me "as long as you bought the car from us".

So... hmm... I had to travel 200 miles to pick up the car that I wanted from a different dealer. But the car has 4,500 miles on it. I bet once I start going they will just figure I have been going there the entire length of time anyway.

Infiniti policy is yes but most dealers do not enforce it. I know that we gave a loaner on a alignment for a 92 Q45 last week.

Probably depends too on how often you go to a dealership. If the only times they ever saw you were for a warranty repair or 2, you probably won't get as good of service after the warranty expires.

I know that, with another car make once, I had a fuel pump go out under warranty, and it took nearly a week to get fixed. I had never taken it in to the dealership before, didn't buy it there, etc. I wish I had thought of a loaner, but one wasn't offered. Once I started doing oil changes there, etc, and the service advisors started recognizing me, their service improved and I got loaners when I had major warranty work to do later.

Our dealer will provide a loaner car regardless of the warranty status or age of the vehicle.

would they provide you one for just an oil change? i don't want to wait 1-2 hours for a damn oil change...

they should just send me a loaner and let me cruise for 1 hour.

Yep, my dealer near me gives me a loaner for pretty much any work done on the car. They are rather nice really (which is a surprise). Although their work isn't always perfect, but at least they acknowledge me and not try and pass off the "Let's see if we can get away with this crap" mentality.

Generally depends too on when you make an appointment. They may only have a limited amount of loaners available, so if they are all reserved, you may be out of luck. Let alone if you just show up.

Then let it be herd... Infiniti of Costa Mesa (South Coast Infiniti) "generally does not give out loaner vehicles for oil changes")...

Words from the Sales rep who sold me the car and from the service department personnel...

Let me call Cerritos Infiniti and see what they say.
