And what good is it back there? If someone has time to retrieve a firearm from the rear center armrest, they had enough time to escape the threat.

I was on my way home from work, and was in a cranky mood, and didnt feel like having my off-duty weapon digging into my side, so I put it in the upper glove box (where the nav dvd player would go) until I got home (would never ever leave a firearm in a car). I had two sh*tbags walk past my car while I was in a fast-food drive-up line, and as they did they made some frightining eye-contact with me; I think they recognized me as being da fuz... I then realized there is no way I could get to that gun fast enough if one of them tried something funny. Since then, I have never left my weapon anywhere except on my belt...

Hiding weapons in armrests, under seats, glove compartments, etc is just a ridiculous idea. Not to mention leaving them in the car is just asking for them to be stolen...

if someone wants to hide a gun in a car they will...even if there wasnt that hiding spot someone would figure out another place to stash a gun
