First, let me say Welcome to the Forum.....lots of information regarding the G35 model line.....

Basically they are one and the same......if your looking into a 6MT, both years offered the Brembo brakes.....and I believe the console on the 04 6MT was revised.....

Other features added to the 04 model year was the TPS (tire pressure sensor) system for warning of low tire pressure....
They also improved the CD changer slightly, making it faster to load and quieter operation.

I have an 04, and I still think its the best buy for the money......after almost 3 1/2 years....I enjoy it like I took delivery yesterday....

Good luck with your purchase

I think the 2003 required a winter package to get the heated seats.

Also, the 2003 had 2 versions with a few differences, like the trunk and support for satellite radio (if that matters for you).

If I'm not mistaken, both years offered the heated seats.....
It was part of a "Premium" Package which included the leather seats,(cloth were standard, but I think only a small percentage were produced compared to the leather option) sunroof, and a upgraded stereo with 6 cd changer etc.....
Check edmunds.com they should have a full list of options in the used car portion....

As far as gas mileage....it didn't matter......if you drove the car hard, you filled the tank alot........they are by no means an enconomy car

Yup on the winter package, it was heated front seats, heated outside rearviews, and a full size spare on a 5th alloy wheel (vs the "donut").

huge sedan difference (if getting 5AT) -> all '03s and early '04 sedan manual mode used the gear range thing (4 means 1 to 4). late '04 sedans (onward) used the other type (4 means 4 - not 1 to 4).

Including LSD with the 18" wheel pkg was always a nice plus, never to be repeated again.
I enjoy my 04 5AT DG. Bought it used from a private party, still feels new, only 22K miles. Excellent personal car for my needs.

The 03 comes with heated seats as an option. Mine has the heated seats..very nice during those cold nights rolling with the windows down! Other than that there isnt much of a difference that wasnt already listed.

Head unit
Tire pressure
consol is the same i believe
Same options available on both years except the tire pressure

Were the tire pressure sensors added in 04 or were they in the 03.5 model? I have an 03.5 and not the original 03 and I don't think I have them.
