How do you program your garage remote to the car in a 04 g35x? I tried holding down both buttons at sametime it never worked.

My owners manual states that it could take up to 90 secs to program the code, did you follow the instructions inside the owners manual?

It's a long step. f you don't have the quick reference card in your car i can try to scan it for you because I don't feel like doing all tha typing

i THINK YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE OUTER BUTTONS FOR 90 SEC TILL THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON YOUR REAR VIEW MIRROR FLASHES RAPIDLY, WHEN IT FLASHES RAPIDLY IT MEANS ITS RESET.

THEN GET THE GARAGE REMOTE, HOLD IT CLOSE TO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. PRESS THE GARAGE REMOTE AND THE HOMELINK BUTTON YOU CHOSE TO USE ON YOUR REARVIEW MIRROR SAY THE FIRST BUTTON. PUSH THE GARAGE REMOTE AND REARVIEW BUTTON TILL IT FLASHES SLOWLY. I BELIEVE THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL BE SOLID, BUT CONTINUE HOLDING THE GARAGE BUTTON AND THE HOMELINK BUTTON (SAY FIRST BUTTON) UNTIL IT BLINKS SLOWLY.

THEN HAVE A FRIEND GO TO THE MOTOR ON THE GARAGE OPENER OPEN THE WHITE PLASTIC COVER. BY THE ANTENNA SHOULD BE A PROGRAMMING BUTTON WHILE HE PUSHES IT. THERE WILL BE A SMALL MAYBE LED ON THE MOTOR, IT WILL BLINK. wHEN YOU ARE IN YOUR CAR PUSH THAT HOMELINK BUTTON YOU CHOSE AND HOLD IT FOR MAYBE 3 TO 5 SECONDS. FROM THERE IT SHOULD OPEN. IF IT DOESNT OPEN, KEEP TRYING. KEEP HAVING YOUR FRIEND PUSH THAT PROGRAMMING BUTTON AND THEN YOU PUSH THE HOMELINK BUTTON.

THIS IS ALL FROM MEMORY SO DONT KILL ME.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS....

i think the car has to be out of the garage in the driveway facing the garage

press and hold the 2 outer buttons on the rear view mirror until the indicator light blinks (about 20 seconds)
then hold your door opener 1 - 3 inches away from the mirror
press and hold one of the 3 buttons on your rear view mirror (which ever one you want to use) and the button on the opener
hold both buttons until the light on the mirror changes from a slow blink to a rapid blink then release both buttons

No it doesn't...mine was inside the garage when i did mine..... but you may need someone to help you, depending on the garage door opener you have, to press a programming button if needed.....

I have an 06 coupe, but I figure the technology is the same.

All I have to say is that the process is a pain in the a$$. However, just follow the owner's manual and you should be able to do it. Most garage doors out there will need to be reset for the remote to work. Even after you have it set, you'll need to push and hold the button for 1-3 seconds before the garage door opens.

Hope that helps, good luck!

Just a note...if you have a garage door opener with a rolling code, you'll first need to program the one in your car against your handheld garage door opener. I'd suggest going around the block to do that so you don't open and close your garage door many times...Once that's done, then you go back to your garage and program the same button in your car against the garage door opener's "learn" button.

that didnt work, i held the 2 outer buttons for awhile, then i clicked the remote and the 1st button held it down then the garage door closed and i released both buttons. Then i tried and pressed the button in the car and did nothing just blinks fast when i press button.
