Bosch Icon and Valero wipers not so good? Whats up with my issues?

I installed a set of Valero wipers (22/18) on my 03.0 Sedan in June.
The driver's side cleared perfectly, the passanger side had some huge uncleared areas inthe middle of it's path.

So this time, I tried the Bosch Icons (22a/18b).
The passanger's side is clearing great, but the driver's side is leaving a HUGE uncleaned area right infront of my face.

So, I put the Bosch Driver's side, and Valero Passanger side on, and tried to diagnose the problem.

Basicaly, the natural & forceful curve of the wipers is keeping the center off of the glass! I can see that both ends are on the glass, and the arch is so high and strong, that the center of the wiper is off the glass COMPLETELY!!! I mean, I can CLEARLY see there is a good 2-3mm space right where its leaving the "streaks" (more like puddles.

Whats up with this? Are my wiper arm springs not pulling the arms, and therefore the blades, down enough? Anyone else having problems with these $40+ pairs of wipers?

Try this adjustment as said in the thread and see if the blades improve.

Do you keep your windshield clean? I suggest you use some glass cleaner and do a good buff on the windshield.. then take a paper towel with some goo gone or other cleaner and wipe down the wiper blades... might help a bit?

It's a weird problem. I've had Icons on my last 2 cars including current g and never had any problems like that.

What I've done with the Veleo is bend the passenger side a bit. I also noticed this too, although it’s not that bad with mine. When I first got the Veleos, the passenger side as about 1/3 of an inch that wouldn’t touch the glass as it wipes across the windshield. So, I bent that part outwards (it’s towards the end of the blades) to have less of a curvature. It too a bit of bending in and out to get the best trade-off. So, now only about ¼ or an inch at the end doesn’t touch the glass, but you won’t notice this since the blades seems a bit longer then the OEM, as when it reaches the top of the windshield, I think it almost touches the end of the windshield.

The entire blade is off of the glass, clearly suspended above the surface by its own springy-ness... if thats a word

I left the blade bent in the oposite direction all day today, it's a little better. I'll attempt further adjustment pursuant to the link above and report....

Maybe I"ll just need to run Valero's on the Driver's side, Icon on the passanger....??
