Paint question?

I bought my 03 sedan last January from a dealer in NJ. It was used and had 50k on it. The dealer swore to me and showed me the BS carfax that the car has never been hit or painted. The other day I was washing my car and noticed that paint on the rear bumper inside the license plate hole is bubbling up and chipping away. I went to my paint shop and was told that this bumper has been repainted. I have 76k on the car now and it's been a year since I have had the car. I'm really pissed about it an wanted to know if you guys thin I should go to the dealer and make them replace the bumper. The body shop told me that it can not be repainted again because it will start to chip again. I have the extended warranty from the nissan dealer but body paint is not covered under it. Any suggestions will be really appreciated.

Pete

there's nothing that you can really do. carfax reports will only show repairs that were done through an insurance company so if the previous owner got it repaired out of pocket it wouldn't show up in a carfax. my suggestion to you is call the dealership let them know that u noticed the chip and took it to a bodyshop to confirm it had been repainted and MAYBE they'll replace/repaint the bumper for you (highly unlikely they'll do it though. worth a shot anyways). other than that u could go to a junkyard and see if they have any factory painted rear bumpers available that match the color of your car.
