My car is in for repairs but the parts needed are on back order for atleast two weeks. the shop has the car sitting out in the front parking lot striped of its bumper and front right panel. Do you think this will do any damge to the car exterior/engine wise, its covered in salt, grime and looks like it rained dirty water on it for some reason, it kills me just thinking about it sitting out there do i have anything to worry about

 

that is horrible.. I am so sorry.. I would be feeling the same as you if it were my G.. I get upset over rock chips..

I would say at least if anything happens the body shop should be responsible.. I would ask if it could be housed indoors or if you could take it home until they get the parts in..

 

they don't GARAGE cars? what type of shop is this???

 

I was actually recommended this shop by someone on the site, I don’t have a covered garage, so me taking it home wouldn’t even help, but at least make me feel better, I went to check out the car yesterday, and the hood was popped and it looks like the hood seal is missing!

 

thanks for the responses but what problems could come up with no hood seal, no front bumper and front quarter panel sitting out side in parking lot for two weeks? gas going bad, it needs an oil change in 200 miles, and it had not been cleaned for two weeks before i took it in and it looks about twice as dirty as when i took it in, what problems am in for

 

I think it will be fine, dont worry about it cars sit on the dealer lot for months sometimes. unless something unexpected happens like punks break your windows but the shop will cover that.
