Do you have to red-line the G engine once in awhile?

Just wondering if you have to rev it to red line to keep the engine in good shape? I know for rotary engine, it may be required to visit the red line often. But on the VQ engine, how often do you have to redline?

IMO it is good for any engine to get into the high revs from time to time. Most of us do it a bit too often.

I keep it over 4k all the time. I love the sound of redlining it. Prolly should stop since im 1 ticket away from getting license revoked.

IMO opinion... a subjective one ... you have to high rev any engine once in a while... but I am not sure if the redline is the best choice... I would bet for 80% of the scale will do the trick... because at higher rpms fuel/diesel is burned much better.. so it kinda cleans the system out...

here is a fact -> if you check your emissions after stop n go traffic it will higher than after pure highway driving ...

I would be happy if any with in-depth knowledge would chime in with some theoretical reasoning . . .

I am not sure if this is accurate or it's just my feeling but everytime after I tried to rev it up, right after that the engine always feel a little smoother and more responsive. But after driving it at around 3K rmp around town, the engine feels a little slow and lethargic.
Just my 2c.
