Help: Have a couple of questions (new owners)

I just purchased a used coupe for the wife. Already, I have noticed 2 things wrong with the car, and need to get the fixed.

1.) When we press the lock button on the keyless entry fob, the car doesn't lock, but activates the alarm. She has to manually lock the door with the key.

2.) Her passenger side window auto rolls up, but then comes back down half way... I've read you can manually reset the window, but have yet to find out how...

Please help

First off, Congratulations and welcome to the board.

The key fob may have to be reprogramed.....you can try resetting it by reading the owners manual, and see if that will work. It gives you a couple options for the operation of the key fob.

You did not mention the year car, but the G35 coupe is notorious for having window problems with the auto up feature.

If your window is closing, and then going down again, odds are the motor is bad, and should be replaced......This would be done for free assuming the car is still under warranty. It may be reset, but I think the symptoms indicate a new motor.....I had mine done a while ago, and it was acting the same as yours....

Other than that, the G is a terrific car for the price, and one of the better looking coupes on the road today......of course I'm a little prejudice....

Good luck with your purchase.

Thanks! My wife loves the car. It's not our other car (MINI Cooper S), but it's just awesome. We had a fun 6 hour drive back from Nashville. The car is an '03 coupe so I'm not sure if the window motors would still be under warrantee. If they're not, I'm sure she can live with it and just manually have them go up instead of using the auto feature...

As for the door lock problem, the passenger door locks and unlocks with the key, but the drivers door doesn't... didn't know if anyone had come across this problem before or not...

I had that problem. I believe it was the actuator. (door lock jammed) Costs $200 to repair. Luckily I still had warranty.

Were you able to still manually lock/unlock the car? We have to unsert the key into the whole to lock/unlock the coupe.
