Disappointment in the 08 causing a rush on the 03-07s??

So I have a friend who imports cars from Japan for a living, and we were talking the other night, and he told me that since the unveiling of the 08 coupe, that he has seen a noticeable increase in demand for the 03-07s.

I was just curious as to what you guys think about this, did Infiniti really screw up that bad with the 08? And what implications do you guys think this may have for the value of our coupes?

Me personally I am indifferent to the G37, why? honestly I don’t think of the G37 as a successor to the G35, I think of it more like the G35s sister car.

In my mind, the G35 has been discontinued much in the way the great MKIV Supra was, and does not have a true successor, and we all know what usually happens to the value of popular cars that are discontinued.

It's possible considering the amount of disgust for the new styling on just about every forum, blog etc. Shows how much power five dirty test mule pics have over potential customers. I keep saying it, "first impressions are everything". If this is actually true then Infiniti should be even more pissed over the fact that the embargo was broken.

They should just figure out how to squeeze that 3.7 liter in the "old" engine bay and keep the 1st generation body.

maybe infiniti released pix of the coupe that early on purpose.
Maybe they wanted to hear what ppl are saying.
Maybe actual model will be a little diff. After all it's just front bumper.
I think we got to wait and see the actual car before we kill the whole idea.

Imagine an aftermarket bumper on it...it might look really sweet.

Dont expect anything like the mkiv situation to happen to the G. Ive actually seen an increase in my 3rd gen rx-7's blue book value in recent years but that only happens when there is a limited number of cars available. There are way too many G's out there for that to happen. The best you could hope for is that the value doesnt depreciate as quickly as usual.

This is what I'm hoping as well. Based on the changes that occurred with the Gen 1 C coupe's lifetime, it seems that Nissan/Infiniti have their ear to the ground with regard to owner's gripes/public opinion.

Consider how drastic the console change was with the 2005 model year!

i remember someone saying this...

"does washing the dirty cars change the way the front bumper looks?"

it's rhetorical..and no they screw up more than just letting dirty pictures out (pun)

it's ugly...how can the second generation of such a beautiful car be so ugly?
