Horror at stealership
Horror at stealership
Just took delivery last week for my new g...I started hearing a belt (screeching) noise at idle whenever I would turn my ac on and off. I took the ride to the dealership and found out that a belt need replacement. THAT sucks... Anyhow, the dealership gives a complementary wash with each service..............................
Found a 2 inch deep deep scratch in my rear driver side door after the wash.
They said they are going to sand it down and paint it & they gave me a loaner car.
I'm totally ticked. Dont know if the paint will look the same.
The mixture of having a belt replacement and scratch on my 1 week old car has me extremely annoyed.

i notice youve only joined recently, but it is common practice to tell the dealer to not wash your car. and dont just tell them, write it on some piece of paper and scatter it around your car. i am not kidding.

The dealer I use for service is excellent - all hand wash.
It's amazing to me they would run it through an auto system.
Maybe the dealers in Los Angeles are better than most??
Never had a problem with the car wash they provide...

Sure, they may hand wash the car - but watch to see what they use to wipe it down with. When my dad brought his S63 in to be serviced, he witnessed a new S-class getting wiped down with paper towels. I wish I was kidding.
At least you noticed it right away. I brought my car in for service in the rain and a couple days later noticed a scratch on the rear bumper corner. I garage it at night and have a big empty parking lot at work so I'm pretty damn sure I didn't do it, but I can't prove the dealer did.

You have only had the car for a week??? I think I would just demand that they get me another car. You shouldn't have to deal with paint work due to their negligence for a one-week old car! I don't care what anyone says... there's no paint better than factory paint.
