last year i bought my g in boston and drove it home to edmonton alberta canada, but went to n.j. after boston to pick up a ford lightning with my buddy and we drove back together and what a blast, except that we went 3700 miles in 4 days,i slept in the g one night and a super 8 in fargo the next,i stunk and was bitchy, but what a great drive and an amazing experience, the big toll road in pa. is the best road i have ever driven, cruise at 110 mph and never saw a cop.
i would recommend a g-trip any day, just phone ahead for hotels and shower more.

Hope this was for an oil change, and that you aren't one of the few with the bad oil problems

I drove from South Florida to Westchester New york, it was about 1300 miles, stopped in North Carolina over night, it was the best, South Carolina was amazing, 0 cops, we went 130 all through south carolina, nothing like it, i would def do it again, it cost around 300 bucks for the trip, wasnt bad at all. considering a flight is 250 and to rent a car another 100 bucks a week or something. so its def worth it, got the car service when i got back to new york, and it was fine, besides from the fact that i only had 4 lug nuts on every rim, which was very scary, haha, didnt realize it untill i got to new york.

I'm currently on a road trip 495 miles from home. I loved the drive, except for the damn truck that flipped a rock at me, causing a nasty scratch in my hood and a small chip in my windshield! I kinda wished I'd flown once that happened.

In preparation for my upcoming trip in 10 days, I took my car in for it's 37500 service (oil change, tire rotation, etc). They found that the front brakes were getting thin, and since I was planning to drive into the mountains, I went ahead and had them fixed

Of course, 9 months and 1500 miles outside of warranty.

I'm taking my G to Palm Springs Friday morning. It's a 6 hr. drive without too many potty stops. I'm looking forward to it, just me and my G. I have a full mask for the front on top of the clear bra...no rocks or bugs for me! Last night I made some new cd's and I have satellite...I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to pull up at the Marriott and meet all my friends for the weekend!

That's funny. A few summers ago, when I had my '04 6MT, I took a round trip from Fort Lauderdale to my home town (Dayton, OH), stopping in Asheville, NC for the mid-way point. It was fun, except for getting a speeding ticket in rural South Carolina on the way there (couldn't resist testing out the twisty country roads; LOL). I had a leather bra on the car for the whole road trip parts (yep, it caught tons of bugs), but it didn't do much good on the way back on I-75 near Atlanta. That's where an 18-wheeler kicked up a huge shredded tire and flung it into my passenger-side headlight (shattering it) before tumbling over the hood and roof, causing some paint damage. 'Got it fixed and looking like new again, but somehow the dealer could tell there was paint work done ('said they had something called a "paint meter;" anyone know about these?) when I went to terminate my lease early to buy my '05 6MT and got raped with damage and early termination charges...

Oh well, I still love my '05 6MT and still think it was worth it, since this one drives/shifts so much better than the '04 and I don't have to worry about spilling my coffee every morning with those cr*ppy excuses for cup-holders they used the first 2 model years; LOL.

P.S. 'Not hating on any '03 or '04 G--still great cars, IMHO.

I'm considering two road trips from Houston in the next year - one to Miami with a group of friends to party there and one to central Wyoming for a cousin's wedding.

Each trip is ~1250 miles one way, so that's a total of 5000 miles. That's a lot of mileage to add to my car, which already has 87,000. On the other hand, these road trips will give me a chance to get some coastal driving and some beautiful mountain driving in.

If I do decide both, then I think it will be a great investment to get a car bra. Colgan Original is the only place where I've found an '06 G35 sedan car bra.

I have to agree the driver seat gets very uncomfortable about 4 hours .. But I went from south Florida to the North Carolina border. 1300 miles round trip.
