Not a good start today (Flat tire)
Not a good start today (Flat tire)
So on my way to the office I got a flat this morning.
Nail hole on the inside of my rear. Good thing that I had my spare with me so after 20 min I was back on the road.
The bad thing that I need a new tire. The puncture is on the inside wall of the tire so it cannot be repaired. The other bad thing is that my rear tires are almost gone too (maybe another 3k or so) So putting one new tire on would be stupid.
It's just going to wear out faster and I'm basically just going to waist the tire. So I got to get two for the rear.
That's not it yet. To get a good price I could get them on the net, but I cant be driving my donut for two weeks while waiting on my tires. So I have to go with my local Lesh Schwab
which means ski hight price.
This flat tire really sux.
And to top it all off I did not wanted to go with Toyo for my third set cuz they suck, but my front tires are in very good condition still and I just have to get Toyos for the rear to match the front.
This sux ***** big time.
Anyone has any suggestions

That really sux....I went through the same deal last summer.
I got to my car, and I noticed a sliver of steel sticking out of the rear sidewall on my Michelin Pilot Sports....I had 37,000 miles on them, but they still had a considerable amount of rubber left....
Anyway, I figured it made no sense to replace only one, and for that matter it made no sense to replace only the rears...
I was set to order them from Tire Rack, but I would have to wait at least 3 days, and then have them exchanged.
I bit the bullet, and went to my local Infiniti Dealer, who had them in stock, and it was only about 20 more per tire, and all the mounting balancing was included....so I didn't make out too bad.
The only sucky part was they messed up a rim, and they had to repair/refinish it for me....
Hope you find them locally at a good price.
Good Luck

well the advantage of going through local shop is that if something like this would happen to the tire I would get from local shop, Then I could of just taking it in and get a new tire.
I have purchased tires from Discount tire before and I bought a warranty on them and I have not bought a tire after that. I got lucky and punctured all of them (at different times) and got them all replaced (all but one).
So if I would have something like this happen with tires that would have bought locally I could just replace them and be done with it.

Here is what I got so far.
Toyo T1R 255/40/19 two tires mount and balance including road hazard warranty (which means if anything like this happens to me again it's a free replacement of the tire. All that for $682.12

things like this makes me happy i purchased the wheel and tire insurance when i first bought the car- already had to replace the rears and fronts- only thing that sucked for me was that i had to pay first and wait to get reimbursed for the tires weeks later

No rim was as good as new.
The tire looked ok from the outside, but when it was taken off at the tire shop it was totally diff story. It was completely chewed up inside. But only one side. I forgot to look which was it the inside or the outside. I think it was outside that got chewed up cuz when one side went flat car leaned over to that side and rim destroyed only that side of the tire. Or if it was inside then I need to check my alignment.
