The coupe being the manly car of the two, it has more strength hence the weight.
Most people think about the doors, don't forget the bulkier suspension, heavier wheels and tires and the additional cup holders.

The sedan has more pronounced sagging in turns as well as oversteer, I drove it, the coupe has better grip on the road period, better control. Larger tires/wheels helps however same suspension? I think not.
The new 07 Sedan handles as well as the old coupe, maybe better.
I won't trade for the new coupe but i'll drive it for kicks.

And I believe there are some differences in the sway bars but I'm not certain of that. Also, I believe the reason for the difference is because of the exhaust not because "it's a coupe".
