06 owners with 18" factory Goodyear tires

Haven't seen anything about this on the forums...

This past weekend I was getting my car inspected (in PA) and it failed because all of my tires have cracks on them. I have an 06 6MT with factory Goodyear tires on. The dealership told me to go to Goodyear and Goodyear had a "run of defective tires" as the manager said when he saw they were 18s.

Now I get to go to Goodyear and get a set of tires and just pay for the wear on the old ones. If you go to a franchise store they'll charge you in full, mail the old tires to Goodyear and you'll get a refund. If you go to a Goodyear factory store you'll only pay for the difference.

Wow! They're equipping the 18's with Goodyears now? That sucks! From 03-05, they were Michelins. And they're already cracking for an 06? I guess when Infiniti says there was little to no price change from year to year, they have to cut corners somewhere.

I'd say if they're admitting to a defect, they should replace them free of charge and perhaps issue a recall.

I'm going to go to an actual Goodyear store next week and see what they say. But I agree with you man!
