help!! fueling question

its weird. the past 2 times ive attempted to fill up my G, the fueling pump automatically stop at just under half tank.. the auto shut off like when your gas tank is full.. then if i try to hold down the fuel gun thingy manually it still stops right away.. WTF.. so i cant really fill my tank past half way.. also, my G feels slightly less powerful lately, although it could be my imagination i keep noticing it.. just hit 30k miles on my 04 coupe so its really not old.. oh, and its happened at different gas stations. any help is much appriciated

It's probably just because the pressure is building up while it's filling and making the pump think you're full. When it happens just take the nozzle out for a sec to let air in again and you will be fine. A lot on nozzles form an air tight closure around your gas tank so as you're filling the pressure is building signaling the pump that you're full even though you're not.

yeah but that happens to every G owner.. cause it sure happens to me.. it happens at different gas stations some do it some dont.. just have to hold the nozzle like half way and it will pour out like normal. and like he said just take out the nozzle for a few seconds then put it back in..

ive never once had a problem like that with my G. however it did happen on my mustang. you just have to pull the nozzle out a little to let air in

happened to me yesterday. my tank was a little over halfway, but i went inside to buy some quick picks and a snicker. gave the guy 5 bucks and told him to put the rest on #2.

went to put gas it, and it shut off at about 2 bucks. i was wtf? so i pumped it manually and it kept choking on me, so i said, ok, 2 bucks got it full?

went back to get my change and the cashier looked at me like wtf? **** came in here to put 2 bucks and came back to ask for change?.

looked at my gas meter and no, it was not even close to being full. 1st time it happend.
