Maybe because, with the previous generation G35 at least, the base MSRP was lower with the manual in the sedan, but higher with the manual in the coupe? (In both cases the manual transmission includes the Sport Package, but the coupe Sport Package is $1,600 vs. $750 in the sedan.)

In other words, resale value varies with MSRP. When the manual has a lower MSRP, the resale value is lower.
