dealer replaced my tranny...

and no, not that tranny! silly kids...

Anyhoos, I went in for my 30k service and told them about my 5th gear grinding only in the mornings or whenever i first downshift after taking off. I also dropped a box of timbits for the service guys...

well the service was done, got the car back, dealer ordered a new transmission and installed it a week later... great service from Infiniti of Dublin.

Drove it home and it was smoother than my first transmission ever was. Nice work. Just thought i would share what happened.

No, the design of the >007's were terrible and faulty. The <009's are what they should be putting in. That's what they put in my car last week. My 6th gear was almost gone from blown synchros. I've always had problems with my tranny, but I thought that's just how the G was. Apparently NOT! The new tran is SOOO much smoother than my old POS tran.

i have driven my new tranny for almost 5,000 miles since the change...and WOW! what a difference the new tranny makes. It is smoother, pulls better, and if feels like it should have from the beginning.

I have to say again, Infiniti of Columbus(dublin) regain my confidence about doing service there. I have had poor dealings in the past with the service guys, and that is where the problem was...poor service guys. But regardless, I am happy with the new tranny...and suggest that anyone with any grinding figure out how it is happening, when it is happening, and take it to the dealer with exact details on how it does it. I am sooo glad i did.

Good luck those of you that are going to attempt it...and like another member said...a box of donuts couldnt hurt.
