Plan on going from portland to spokane on friday the 13th of july... yea.. THIS friday! and my cruise control isnt working!!! I bought the car used and it was working then (about 3500 miles ago) and now it isnt working.. the cruise light comes on, but when you hit the SET button that light doesnt come on and either does cruise.

I also noticed that the passanger cigarette lighter socket doesnt work?

anyone know why these 2 arent working? could it be a fuse? need to know ASAP cuz cruise would be nice on this 6 hour trip!.

is your car manual? i know that theres a button that the clutch has to be pushing on so that the car shuts off CC when you push the clutch in...

yes its a manual, but im not pushing on the clutch at all when i try and SET cruise???

hmmm i am not exactly sure how it works... might wana take a peek under there and make sure the clutch is pushing that little button all the way down. i was doing some clutch adjustments last year and my cruise stopped working because the button wasnt being pressed down all the way when my foot wasnt on the clutch at all.

oh yeah another thing is that it wont set if youre going over 90 mph...

wait wait wait... your sayinf there is a button that has to be PRESSED or NOT PRESSED in order for cruise to work? cuz i just made clutch adjustments as well! so that must be why it isnt working!!!! so then how do i fix? move clutch in or out? it is already out kinda far, i had it in but then shifting got tough...

Exact same issue here. Was the button not being pressed the issue for you? I'm going to try to check it out today when I get off work.

when you adjust your clutch pedal people tend to adjust it way to much causing cruise control to not work. Easy fix is to raise the pedal height.

Ive adjusted my pedal to only 1 1/4 turn on the nut and i dont have any cruise control problems.

you do reliaze that that switch is adjustable when you isntall it its threaded on 2 sides and straight on 2 sides, and you adjust it by feel when you feel the button be pressed.

thats easier than adjusting the clutch pedal freeplay. since you twist it one way or the other and then pull it out or push it in.

Hey Guys, this usually happens after you adjust your clutch. You probably tightened the clutch for faster shifts (shorter clutch length). After you release the clutch from the shift it should come back and press a black button that controls the cruise. The clutch hinge/lever has a round white/translucent circle attached to it. That ring presses a black button (not the one that controls the shifts, its another one above that, you may have to look upside down). Here's what to do to fix the problem:

1) Disconnect the blue electric switch that connects to the black button (its a nut that you turn.

2) Twist the nut to where it is pressed up all the way against the white ring when the clutch is released. This tells the computer that the clutch isn't pressed and that it's been released.

3) Connect the blue electric switch.

That should do it. I had the same problem!
