Royal purple oil

Hey all, i know i should search, and i've tried, can't find what i need to know.

I was wondering what type of royal purple you all that use it, use? (10W30,etc)

Need to start changing oil routinely and need some advice on where to aquire CHEAP oil that is legit. (And filters.)

I don't have a costco card but have heard that cheap mobile one oil is there.

I have a 2003 g coupe with spacer, intake and pulleys. If that helps you with recommendations.

I thank you all so much for your help

Why skimp on oil? it's not that expensive unless you change it very often.
Mobil 1 is fine.. most run 5-30. You should check your manual for recommendations based on your climate, etc.

I change Castrol Syntec every 5K. (5-30) I use it because that's what the dealer was using from day one (after break in). But I am considering getting RP. I've read lots of good stuff about it. Most all auto places carry it now, including Wal Mart.
It is more than M1 or Syntec, like 50c a qt. Depends where you shop.
Costco is not that much cheaper than some discount stores like KMart, etc. and some have M1 and other synthetics on sale now and then.

As the earlier post says, Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec or Royal Purple are fine. Use 5w30.

Almost 5 qts. Pour 4 in, and slowly bring it up to level with (most) of the 5th.
If you are going to a dealer, bring 5 with you if you are not buying oil from them.

About 5 quarts. Buy 6 because you'll be needing the 6th after 2K miles. I change my oil every 3K or 3 months - which ever comes first.

i'm currently using 5w-30 RP. i like it. it's cool coz the fluid itself is actually purple, then it clears up when it's heated. i think RP is pretty good coz it leaves a protection film in the cylinder bores to seal the rings. since 05+ 6MT coupes typically have a problem with oil consumption, i went with RP. it's actually pretty good. i kind of still have some oil burning, but it's a big improvement.

Not for everyone, luckily. Might keep an extra quart to be sure though.
If you are adding a fresh quart every 2K I would not be changing it every 3K. But whatever floats your boat.

For guys who are running Royal purple, how often are your oil change intervals? Any more than the 5k you might do on M1?

When ever i chance the oil i change the filter, its like 9 exta dollars to keep the car running great! I have been using royal purple 5w-30 for about 15,000 miles and just changed to royal purple 10w-30 since im getting higher mileage on the car. The OEM oil filter is going to be the best thing for the car so just stick with that. I change my oil every 3000 miles as well...

5 Full quarts of Royal Purple 10w-30
1 OEM Nissan oil filter
