I appreciate all the comments, definitely a mixed bag....

I definitely hear some of the concerns but my reply to some of those is why does the shifter allow you to go into neutral without pressing the button like other gears then? I think that if it were a bad thing, it wouldnt let you do that.

What do you all think?

I've always been told not to do this for the same reason that only idiots shift to neutral and take their hands off the bars on a bike, if some one is coming up quickly behind you and you're in gear at least you can make an effort to avoid an accident.
