I can't blame ppl for being pissed off if they've gone through 1 or more VQ replacements.
I'd dump the G as well as the Z (their plagued with this issue too) if I had gone through that experience.
Although now, Nissan/Infiniti has finally found a solution...hand built rev up VQ's from Japan with no oil consumption issues.

Whats upsetting is only some rev up VQ's have this while others don't and driving habits have nothing to do with whether you have a oil burner or not with the rev up.
I know of an 06 just like mine but with MREV2 + spacer that doesn't loose a drop and is driven way harder than I do with mine. Too bad mine couldn't be like that.

Upsetting as well is the ppl who don't quite make their absurd threshold of 1qt/1000mi or worse to qualify for replacement.
So ppl at 1qt/2500mi (myself) are supposed to accept that consumption as acceptable,
while there's many rev up VQ's that don't loose a drop and are driven like they were stolen from day one?! Heh!!
I was at one point (new) 1qt/1200mi, but has improved and stabilized at current consumption with less than 25K on engine.

People without this issue should count their blessings b/c the ppl with it, did get stuck with a POS VQ if their's better than 1qt/1000mi consumption threshold.
Ironically, wish mine was worse than 1qt/1000mi. At least I would know I'd be getting the hand built VQ and no more consumption issue as it should've been from day one.

Nissan/Infiniti's reputation is very tarnished in my book. Mainly from how they are addressing this known issue with their consumers. 1qt/1000mi or worse...get real!!
We've been in the new millennium for almost eight years, not in the 60's, 70's or even 80's with that type of warranty replacement threshold standard.

I call to Nissan/Infiniti
