Water inside passenger side.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but in dire need of help. This morning I went to get into the car and the passenger floor mat was full of water from the rain overnight. Last month I installed the groundinggear wires. My question is is there a rubber seal on the inside of the firewall that could have been pushed loose when I ran the wire into the cabin of the car? I need to know this before I go to Infiniti and they tell me it is my fault. I dont see how the water could be coming in from the wire itself since this happened with the car parked when this happened. It has to be from the vent under the outside of the windsheild. Any help PLEASE.........

The rubber seal is probally what cause the water to get inside the car. Get some silicone and fill the hole where you ran the wires and you should be all set.

Also you can perform a check yourself by just puring some water on the windshield and looking for the leak yourself. Whatever you do I would not go to the stealership until you are 100% sure that the leak is not comming from the rubber seal on the fire wall.

Permetex black silicone has worked great for me.

If the 07 is like all the others I've see the grommet leads to a pipe that goes straight down into the passenger side and would puddle just like you said during rain or a carwash.

As suggested I put silicone around the hole created for the wire to pass through. I will try the water test tomorrow and followup.

Again, thanks for the suggestion.
