Infiniti's Reliability
Hi, i'm new to this forum and considering on purchasing a 2008 G35 sport sedan, but would like to learn more about the car from G35 owners before i pull the trigger. I really love the performance and style of the G35 but don't know how reliable Infiniti is. I'm planning to have this car for a good five to six years so i want to know what would you guys as G35 owners rate it from your experiance so far and/or would think it will hold up in the long run. I appreciate for the help and hopefully a member of the G family.

I just replaced my '03 G35 coupe with an '08 sedan, so I suppose you can safely infer I'm happy with Infiniti's reliability and service.
My coupe had 100k punishing miles in L.A. traffic and long weekend trips on it and had no significant service issues, just the usual maintenance items plus one misadventure from hitting a broken piece of furniture on the freeway.
If you look at JD Power's surveys, they report very high overall reliability for the brand, too.

This is my third Nissan product (two Maximas and now a G), and the reliability has been great. I too have taken my G in for a couple of fixes (sunroof, seat heaters, and a bad TPS), but knew that would happen. Being in the tech industry, I'm familiar with new versions of a complex product having some teething problems.
But in twelve months, the only actual failure has been the tire sensor, and that was easily fixed.
Before that, one recall on the 5th gen Max, and nothing on the 4th gen Max.

Owner of 6 mo's and cant complain at all, everything that could go wrong is under warranty or insurance, and everything that has been recalled as been fixed promptly and well... good luck in your decision.
PS. Make a list of pros and cons, and whichever outweighs the most, thats your car! (Price should be included in the pros or cons)

i've had alot more stupid problems like rattles, and service bulletins and stuff like that (not excluding the rear-end accident which I can't really blame on nissan/infiniti). Enough problems that as much as I like the G, if I had to do it over again, I'd probably consider the IS350 a little more seriously even though the same options costs about 7k more. I came from a nearly problem free IS300, so Lexus has always done good by me.
I really like the G. I prefer the smaller size of the IS350, but the G communicates better (the one con about the IS350 that if they solve, it would have been a really really tough decision).
