HELP!!!! Gauges gone and VDC Problems

Ok so yesterday my car was running fine and then about 4 hours later I went to get into my car and I had lost my tach, speedo, VDC, the lights were all goofy I had no tail lights expcet when I hit the brake and it was just all messed up. I had dissconnected the battery for a while and I got the everything back for a while then my speedo went and the VDC came went off again and I am not tracking how many miles I go. I pulled codes U1000, and U1001. They are communications failure and I check every single connection such as the ECM, BCM, IPDM, ABS Control Unit, and unified meter and A/C amp. IF someone has had this problem or something like this PLEASE give me some help I need it!

Thanks
Chris

Are you sure that your battery is good? If it is starting to go bad, you could see the problems you described, especially if you've been idling (or turning low RPMs) for a while.

I had a Subaru Outback that exhibited almost exactly the same behavior due to a bad battery. Fortunately, I already knew that the battery was on its last legs, so I knew what to look for.

You could also see those symptoms if your alternator was going. But, they would be followed by the engine eventually cutting out as the battery drained completely.

Good luck!
