Certified Pre-Owned.
Certified Pre-Owned.
Ok so my car is an 03, put in service in June of 03, so as of June of 07 its 4yrs old, so its out of the warranty (At 18,100 miles) and it was not Certified Pre Owned.
I guess it didnt meet the criteria as in being under 4yrs old... missed it by a couple months.
Anyhow if anyone has purchased a used Infiniti was it COP or not???
Just wondering whats up with this because on my dealers lot they only have one use Infiniti that is COP....

From what I understand, CPO is almost a scam of sorts. Basically, most dealers won't Certify a car unless, like you said, it has a certain amount of miles on it or less, usually under warranty still, etc. Really, all it means is that you are buying a car that is already a good car and they are telling you what you already know but is marking up the car more since it is branded CPO. Hell, if you know how to buy a used car (i.e. get a machanic to check it out) and it is still under warranty, you shouldn't have a problem to begin with and save $$$ in the process. If you want to feel better, buy one of those extended warranty when you buy a used car (as long as it doesn't have too many miles) and that warranty is many times better than getting a CPO. JMO.
