G35 vs. Other Options??

Ok... some people went out in search of this car, some didnt, some looked for other cars & came across this one.

I want to know how did you come across your G35 and what influenced your purchase decision???

Why did you get your G, was it a luck up find or intential.

Lets here the stories.

I have always wanted one since they first came out. Always thought they were beautiful cars. When my 97 ES300 was dieing out on my and a new car was an option, I already knew what I wanted

Influence:

I needed something to replace my maintenance nightmare 2000 BMW 540i 6speed. Superb driving car nontheless.

The G35 happened to be at the dealer, and hour later and was signing papers and enjoying it ever since. No regrets yet (I'm only on my third week of ownership). Plus I had a G before, but it was a sedan and I didn't enjoy that one as much. I was leaning towards this one because its beautiful from every angle, reasonably tight in contruction since it has 35K miles, beautiful exhaust note, and the color that I've always sought out for and finally found.

Wanted one since they first hit - back when i was driving a 1994 altima

Had to give up the altima b/c it was dying so i grabbed my sister's civic, then when i was able to make the financial leap (a month ago ) i was already 3 months into my search and stumbled upon what i affectionately call the dream car.

...i also call it "means to escape the girlfriend at a high rate of travel when she's in one of those moods." Lord help me if she ever reads this.

to tell u the truth i didnt even know about the G when i was shopping. I looked at scions(tc)/bmw's/mitsubishi (evos)/lexus's/nissans(350z) /vw's(gtis)/mini's(copper type s)/ mazda(rx8)/ even went to a infiniti dealer (seen the m series and was like blah and walked away)...

i went around shopping a few weekends..
i loved the 350z.... so i price shopped found one for about 28,000 with no navi.. i wanted navi in my next car just for looks and due to me being lazy sometimes and not wanting to google map it.. so a day after work I went to a nissan dealer i was talking to over the net and they didnt have the car i wanted in yet so we told them i would come back
next door was a lexus dealer my co-workers sister worked at so we went there to check out some cars..... i test drove a lexus didnt like it was a older es300.. so i started looking around there used cars i seen a car that was just like WOW YOUR SEXY What are you!... was a G35.. so i sat it in.. she huged me... turned it on was like /drool... navi poped up.. drove it had power to it, wasnt a 4cyl ill tell u that.. ever since then couldnt stop thinkin of the car how i liked it.. had back seats, trunk space, same power as the 350, was sexy... ended up that week i bought the one i test drove since i loved it so much. that is my story :P

i was looking for a 2 door car that had to be a stick... 2 seater is fine, but if it was 4-5 it was perfect. adn trunk space is a plus since i can put my subs in there. the g had everything i wanted,6spd, back seats, a trunk, navi, power, what more could 1 ask for?

It was this or the 350z.

Insurance is cheaper with the G, so I opted for it.

i called on the insurance they were same price for me. It mattered on if it was a sports car or a 4x4 truck is what makes insurance high from the rep that i talked to.

BMW 3-series = too much $$$ vs. equivalent G35 = G35 FTW!
Lexus IS250 = too slow/dull vs. equivalent G35 = G35 FTW!
Lexus IS350 = too much $$$ and too sloppy-handling vs. equivalent G35 = G35 FTW!
Acura TSX = too much FWD-crappyness and too slow vs. equivalent G35 = G35 FTW!
Acura TL = too much FWD-crappyness vs. equivalent G35 = G35 FTW!
350Z = too impractical (and mine was too TOTALED ) vs. equivalent G35 = G35 FTW!

was trying to find a decent RWD car, Zs, coupes not practical enough, it was either a G or a maurauder/marquis/crownvic. bmws/mercedes just too hard to find with decent mileage for a reasonable price.

had been almost ready to settle for a FWD car... but luckily found a low mileage '03 G35 sedan for a decent price.

Was deployed overseas, needed a car when i got back, decided i wanted something with 4 drs, awd or rwd, japanese, manual transmission around 30k.
Basically that narrowed the list down to STI, EVO, IS300, and G35. The IS had VERY few manual transmission vehicles available, and the STI and EVO were nice but just way to impractical, although i was leaning very heavily toward the EVO. Day before i was flying back to the states searched the used vehicle stock for an Infiniti dealership near my place and found an 05 DG 6mt sedan w/ navi and every other option that was available for that year. Best thing was it only had 8k mileage. The very day that i got back i couldn't sleep because of jet lag so i went to the dealership and ended up with the car that i drive now for 27k (incl TTL). Funny thing is, apparently everyone at the dealership knows my car because my dealer pulled the keys off another dealers desk. That other dealer had the keys because he was showing the car to some guy who 3 hrs away who was driving up that day to see the car. I bet he was one PISSED off guy...lol =P

Got the G35 as a secondary car. Ran across it by accident and bought it used from a rich old couple who were getting divorced and took great care of it. I never buy used cars from crazy guys like myself. I have a dedicated track/sports car and the EVO for fun and the female persuasion . The G is my car for going across town or a trip to the hill country, Austin etc and beyond.

i had a 97 camry that needed new shocks and the bumpyness was insane, so i decided to just get a new ride, i was sick of the 4 door camry so i made a decision to get a coupe no matter what, and when i looked into the prices and horsepower and performance, g35 coupe was the winner, it was either that or get a ugly 350z or a slow mini cooper, so g35 it was! so clean
