M3 spoils me

After having a ride in my friend E46 M3, then going back to my car, it feels a little too ponderous and loose. The M3 feels a lot more button down and the whole thing just tightens up around corner.

Is there anything I can do to make the G feels better?

Will a set of 275 tires and good coilovers help?

get a coupe

j/k....you can try the GT-Spec chassis reinforcement products. PM Da_mayor.

Coilovers or adjustable shocks will help, as well as a front/rear strut bar.

some wider wheels and tires also make a huge difference...you want to feel buttoned down? get yourself some wider aftermarket 18 inch wheels and get a set of Falken Azenis tires. I guarantee you will stick to the road like glue.

Biggest bang for the buck... Sway bars.

If you dont' have the "sport" supension, yes, new shocks, springs, or coil overs would be a big help. They would help even WITH the sport stuff, but the change wouldn't be as noticable.

You already have sway so next step would be coilover or springs/shocks (Koni's...ect) then wider/sticky tires and then I would spend money on various tight down bars...Also how well you drive makes bit of difference as well, I have M3 and I go on drives with Gs all the time, I know many G35s have no problem keep up with me on twisties what so ever.

Please never try to compare anything from your friends m3 to a g35 (coupe or sedan) if you follow that rule you will be fine. Totally different car, totally different price range and totally different tax bracket of owners

You cant compare handling of an M3 to a G35 Sedan. The coupe handles much more closer to the M3, but the M3 is still the superior handling machine.

Get a coupe as everyone else has stated but you can also opt to spend some $$$ on a suspension and components such as A-Arms, camber/toe kits, chasis braces, anti roll/sway bars all around.

I thought the sedan and coupe have the same exact chassis although probably different spring/shocks and tires. If the sedan has the same suspension setup as the coupe, wouldn't it then handle the same?

I think Nissan stiffened up the coupe. The coupe weighs more. I have always thought it was because they had more/better handling components.

get some sways - full stiff on rear med./stiff on front
get some wider tires - 275
Get the mid-chasis frame thingy from GT spec
and NRG or similar front upper strut bar

Post back when everything is on and tell me if you still think the m3 handles better....

My sedan feels more solid than my friends E46 M3. A good set of springs and struts or coilovers, wider low profile tires and sway bars will go a long way for you.

Coupe weighs more b/c of crash protection stiffening to make up for those long doors. Sedan doesn't need it b/c it has plenty of stiffness from the B-pillars. The coupe has pretty much the same suspension plus some wider suspension arms in back to push the track out a bit and a little bit lower ride height. It's spring rates are the same meaning with the additional weight, the coupe may be a bit softer.

The greatest flaw of the sedan is the taller body and relatively narrow track. Push the wheels out a bit with some bigger rubber, drop it on coilovers and it'll be better. Still can't match the feel of what essentially started as a G competitor and then added 20k profit margin on top.

I picked the my coupe over the M3 over 2 years ago and price wasn't the factor. All you need are some shocks & springs or coilovers if budget allows it. Sway bars and big fat tires will also help a lot. I have also driven the Sedan and the Coupe G35's and honestly there's a very notable difference in handling.
