Forecasting Maintenance
Over the next 3 years, I will be driving my car from 76k miles into 150k miles. I would like to compile a list of maintenance items, both proactive and required maintenance costs.
My maintenance book only shows up to 60k and then suggests repeating the previous services at the same intervals.
Before I compile a list, I have a few simple questions.
When does the water pump go? Cost?
When do the bushings go? Cost?
When does the Diff go? Cost?
What other cars have a VQ35DE under 2003 model year?

Well, other than spark plugs at 100k mile. The maintanence should stay the same as the 30k and 60k tune ups. The water pump is not run by a belt, so it does not need to be replaced.
If you change your fluids and lubricate regularly. Change the belts, hoses and other items that get old and cracked, you should not have a problem at all. The only item that will cost you would be a clutch replacement. At the dealer about $2K. (JWT Clutch, PP, and Flywheel FTW!)
I have noticed that the Infiniti "premium tier" maintenance program is fairly aggressive. Example, I would not have changed belts at 30K. I would not have changed hoses at 60K unless they were over 4 years old. If you follow the Infiniti guidelines, you won't have a problem. There is no reason that this car can't last 300,000K plus.

So we dont have to change our timing belt? I know its chain type not belt so i dont know if it makes the diff. I never had a chain type engine, always dealt with the smaller belt type engines. Also i just saw the water pump doesnt need replacing?

The timing chain itself should last forever (300K+). But the thing that wears is the cam chain tensioner. Most of the time they are worn down to metal at 150K, so if you don't want to replace that, sell the car once you hit your 150K.
With proper coolant flush/replace every 2-3 years, the water pump and seals should last forever (300K+) too. Just follow the standard service intervals in your manual and 95% of this Nissan drivetrain will never have any problems.

was at the dealer to get some warranty work done, got some quotes for major maintenance services ... $569 for 30k (and that's not even touching the trany or differential) .... $1200 for 60k .... holly crap, that's double the cost of MDX maintenance ... all I got to say is WOW, stealerships are really out to rape you ... definitely will look into more "reasonable" options... nissan dealer may be?

I was quoted $981.00 for my 60K service. I changed the wipers, tranny fluid and differential fluid, brake fluid, and a few other things. Ended up costing about $700. It's the labor to replace all the hoses and belts that runs the cost up. If you're up for that you can really save some dough. I can't because I don't have good water to flush the radiator with (well water and aluminum block/heads don't mix and that much Di or Distilled water is high) so I didn't change the hoses myself.
