New G35 compared to my 2006 G35

I took my 2006 G35 coupe in to have the seat rails fixed under warranty and was given a new G35 sedan as a loaner. My 06 has a custom (Fast Intentions) exhuast w/ cat deletes, a Pop Charger, plenum spacer w/ a $4K V-pro engine management. My car was tuned by SGP racing. She dynoed in 98 degree heat and high humidity at 275 which is 5o hp more than she did stock.

Now here is the killer, the 08 loaner base model had just as much if not more power than my car. It was remarkably quick, breaking the tires loose in 2nd gera w/ no problem. I was shocked and mind you I am not easily impressed (I also own a 644 rwhp M3 and a 640 rwhp Porsche GT2).

Now the new G35 is rated at only 10 hp more than the old model but there is a big diff according to my butt dyno.

Excuse my ignorance since I have been out of the VQ community for quite a while, but I was really impressed and am thinking of getting my wife a new G35 sedan or the new EX 35 that infinity is building w/ the same motor.

^i had the opposite impression from u. My 04 sedan is making about 278 on dynapack and was not impressed with a 07 loaner. Mine was the journey though.
The interior was very nice.

BTW is was ur car dynoed on dynojet or dynapack?

Dynojet. It dynoed 50 rwhp over what it did stock. The new engine, stock, produces way more than 10 hp more than the old, that is my point.

Unless you had the G37 I don't see how it could have had more that 275whp stock. Don't the new G37s dyno around 270 stock? You were in an 08 G35 which should have been way less right? But dynos can sometimes be misleading. Maybe the power gain down low is more but up top is less?

The new engine is rate on the new testing procedures, in 07's G35 coupe the horsepower rating droped to 270 or was 275? but either way its about 30 more than older ones not just 10.

Difference was night and day when I drove the new G35...not just a little but way faster and smother compared to my current 03.

It must be because in your 03 most of your 50whp gains were up top. Maybe in the 08 G35 there is more hp below 4K than yours, but not up top. That's the only thing I can think of to account for the difference you felt.

Try going from a stock 04 G to a 07 G loaner.

You will be like "Man, my car is a slow POS" Thats what i said after driving the 07 for 3 weeks...

Now listen silly boi, if u weren't so silly u wouldn't spend 7k on mods to be as fast as a 07 sedan. With the right mods and spending less than $1500 u can be as fast as a 07 sedan till 100mph and faster after 100mph. With 7k on mods u should be as fast C5 vette not a 07 G35.

Now shut ur mouth and keep the insults to ur stupid self for being a dumb a$$.

Not to be an ***, but exhaust + pop charger + spacer + ECU doesn't add up to a 50whp gain.

Exhaust, maybe 10whp.
Pop charger, 0whp (Infiniti's stock airbox's heat-management benefits outweigh pop-charger intake airflow gains, especially in "98 degree heat").
Spacer, maybe 15whp.
ECU, let's add another 10whp.

Optimistically, I'd give you 35whp gain total. Did you dyno before and after? Do you have graphs showing both before and after you can post?

I'm not calling you a liar... I'm just trying to see how such wild gains from such modest mods can be possible.

his dyno numbers are him "feeling" the HP gain on the car just like the "feeling" that he got by driving the 07 sedan.
