Steering kickback almost gone after suspension mod
After I bought my 06 G35 sedan which came with sport suspension setup, one thing I notice was the steering kick back over bumpy corners which I never notice before in my previous car. Whenever I corner hard, there was always an occasional kick to the steering wheel which was a little distracting especially while you're trying to concentrate to make the corner. After awhile I then modified my suspension setup bit by bit. Until recently, I notice that steering kickback was almost gone over the same corners on my daily commute. I am not sure why. Even Infiniti had to slightly change the front suspension to reduce steering kickback which a lot of magazines had complained about. Most magazines actually said that steering kickback was probably the G most significant handling drawbacks. I think Infiniti changed from double to single pivot lower control arm to solve this problem.
Now, my steering kickback is almost gone and even if it's still there, I don't really notice it as much.
Has anyone notice it?
Here's a list of mod in chronological order:
1. change tire to 245/45/18 all around
2. change sway bar to Stillen with med/med setting
3. change to Z revised springs/shocks
4. add 10mm spacers to all wheels

I have had my car for 3 years and never noticed anything like that. Drove it on stock suspension for almost a year with very hard cornering all the time and never came across that issue.

It's strange that some don't notice but I've read a few review of the first gen G and they all complained about the steering kickback. I definitely felt it all the time especially during hard cornering. As I mentioned before, Nissan change the front lower control arm from double to single pivot to address this very issue.
