Is this a good deal for a "04 G35C

Its a 2004 DG 6sp, no spoiler, 1 owner, 31k miles. Dealer is asking $23,998. The front tires seem to have low tread and the trunk has some chipped paint from the dealer removing the "SKYLINE" letters from previous owner who happened to be a 30 y/o woman. lol Overall the interior and exterior look good for a 2004 car. With taxes and everything the car comes out to $25,992 out the door. Think i can maybe talk it down?

Looks almost like my 04 that had 28K miles. I bought it in August. The owner just put new tires, rotors and brakes on the car in June. He was firm on 24 but I noticed a 2 inch gash in the rear bumper and a little curb rash on the lower corner of the front bumpers.

I knew I'd be having that taken care of. I offered up 23 and he balked as the KBB was like 25K. I told him after he gets tired of dealing with idiots without money, use me as a back up plan. He was loaded and had a new 325I in the garage so he called me 2 days later and said it was all mine. He got tired of the fools trying to borrow money from their aunts and uncles.

My credit union was stunned I got it for 23K and reiterated that it was worth 2K more than I paid. I did take the car in and had that the curb rash and the back bumper redone. I had both bumpers repainted so now it's perfect.

I always tell anyone that asks on this site, check the local guys. My guy was near 60 years old and took it to the dealer for every service. He was not the type to tear it up.

My big reason to push for private sale is the huge saving of no tax to be paid. In my state that would be almost 1500 bucks. I still had a full year warranty on this car. You could even think of buying private, saving the tax and going to the dealer with the savings to buy an extended warranty.

Watch the "doc" fee. A total rip off and basically a way to fool unsuspecting people that think this is some official fee required by the state.

I once backed a salesman in the corner and said that I am not buying unless I know what this is. He said "profit." There ya have it.

now i have one question, i have no idea if the car has got its 30k service done from the dealer, and the nearest infiniti dealer is about 130 miles away. So would i just call the dealer to get that all set up?

If Nissan has a dealer, you can get it done there and be protected as they are all one and the same. Nissan does service Infiniti.

Even though I know it's a rip and I let the dealer know it's a rip, I have not been able to have the charge disappear. I have threatened to go to one of the car buying services where I work where that doc fee was 200 bucks as opposed to the 350 or 400 at some dealers. Just be aware of what it is and let them know that you know it's a trumped up phony bull**** fee.

Yet another good reason to buy private as opposed to a dealer, no sales tax and no BS phony doc fee.
