Today insurance companies will call ANY damage on a new car a total loss. Just because the dealers dont want Rebuilt cars on their lots, as they will have to drastically reduce the prices. Insurance companies usually go for total loss and sell the car at an auction getting most of thier money back anyway.
That right there my friend is a quick fixer upper, that shouldnt even be presented to the insurance company and just DIY. Even if you do present this to the insurance its so minor that it will NOT be considered a total loss. Now if you have airbag deployment, broken axles etc they will call it a total loss, even if in reality its not SO BAD. Anyway, i might be talking ish but thats my experience.
