Im pritty sure the bank does not give loads on salvage title cars.

reason is they dont have an collateral value if you stop paying .

-and if it is salvage and you bought it from a mom an pop type dealership (not infiniti or nissan) then there isnt much you could do.

Only error i can see is the carfax is wrong, cause if DMV says its clear the its clear, and the dealer may have just gotten its information from carfax, cause they normaly dont keep track of stuff like that.

If the DMV in his state says it's clear, couldn't that be because he does have a clear title in that state. Typically the titles get washed through another state then moved somewhere else. I would try to get out of this car fast. Think about trying to resell this car...not fun times.

get money back and get a new car lol.
jokes aside, if DMV tells you that it's not salvaged, i'd go with what DMV says.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Carfax should have tracked the car's history right to the original dealer. If it did have a salvage title at one time, it should show up.

Infiniti may know becasue the car could have been taken to an Infiniti dealer after an accident and deemed total loss by the insurer. They would keep it in their database based on VIN.

Do yourself a favor, go out to your car and check the following:

Look under it at the pinch rails under the rocker. Are there any marks resemling /////, or XXXXXX, or oooooo? Or is there a rediculous exaggerated amount on undercoating spray in areas? Any of these marks is a sure sign it has been on a frame machine.

Next open hood and all doors. Check all bolts that connect body panels. Hood, fenders, doors, etc. They should be painted as factory. Turn marks or tool marks mean the panels have been off the car after manufacture.

Run your hands over the edges of the car. Rear lip of hood, doors, trunk, etc. Infinity paint should be like glass/normal. No roughness or sandpaper feel should be there.

Go back to the hood and trunk. Under the hood, look for any weird welds where the core support attaches to the frame rails. In the trunk, look for any welds along the quarter panel. Pull up the carpet and look below as well.

Any water or sand in the spare well? Any sand under the trim peices along the doors?

Just things to help you come to your own conclusions, not just take someones word for it. Carfax isn't always right. 60% of the time, it works all the time...
