Sounds and Runs Like a BEAST!!

So I searched and found a few threads on this but none really explained why. In the mornings when my engine is cold no matter the temp outside it sounds and runs much stronger. The intake gives me chills it sounds so good . What is it about the engine being cold that makes it act that way? What is it doing? Is there any way to tune it and make it run like this all the time?

It's because the air going into your engine is much cooler. For one it is colder outside and two it's because the engine isn't hot so the air doesn't expand as much in your intake. This allows your engine to breath better producing a better sound.

Colder air = denser air = more oxygen per square unit = ability to inject more fuel into a cylinder to attain the appropriate stoichiometric ratio of gas to oxygen. This leads the engine to be a little more powerful and also sounds "meaner".

Thx for all the replys. I just thought maybe the engine was changing the A/F ration based on the temp it was running or something. So the engine doesn't change anything when it is trying to warm up? Thought maybe I could tune it to run like that all the time but it sounds like it is only the colder air that is making the difference not anyhting the engine is controlling. Nothing to do with the ECU or A/F rations or any other electronically controlled parts.......DARN!!!

Very well-put. Colder air is much denser, too.

So with a cold air intake im guessing you get these results and tone all the time? Ide invest in one if I knew it would sound that nice 24/7
