G35 advanced driver question...
lololol/......
i wud consider myself a more maneuvering driver than power shifting driver.... yu have to see me in traffic to understand...
but yea... i dont know i think theres sumthing wrong with my clutch dats why i started this thread.. becuz my clutch pedal got stuck twice today!!! i have no idea why dis happened but it only happens when i rev first gear up real high and try to shift to 2nd

i dont think there is a turbo kit out for your new sedan, so 3 months might be tight...
get the injen intake. its not out yet, but it looks sick. there isnt really a RACING exhaust, but i like the fast intentions.

When driving a manual, for any different vehicle, there is a different clutch "engagement point." You must find the optimal point where the clutch is just pushing on the synchros enough to let the gears slide by each other within millimeters. Same concept as having the car at a steady hold when stopping on a hill, using nothing but the clutch and gas pedal. You just have to MASTER it while driving if you really want to tear through the gears, and dont understand the heel-toe concept yet this will help you master it when you get to learn how to carve turns properly. Driving is an art, you must study it, and practice it (thats the best part, isn't it?)
Its not the best thing in the world for your clutch if you learn on your own car, but if you ask the question you will receive the answer. Anyways, it seems you should be able to afford an after-market clutch when, not if, you hurt yours noticeably.
Good luck.

I don't condone what you're doing... go to a track day and learn to drive quickly, and do it in a safe environment.
As for your questions, you only need to push the clutch pedal far enough to disengage the clutch. No need to push all the way... some drivers use a stop to get it exactly to that point.

do you have a link to the injen intake?
these are complete n00b questions....nowhere near "advanced".
where to begin...
---------
i am wondering about da clutch pedal in the car... someone told me that pressing da g35 clutch all da way in is not the correct way to shift and i believe him because it takes da clutch a long time to fall in gear when its pressed all da way in and out...
-------
powershifting is the fastest possible method. you bought the wrong car for drag racing, but nobody sticks to the precise application for the cars they buy, so it's all good. as previously stated, you can drop it to the point where the clutch is complete disengaged and be fine. not using your clutch is the fastest possible method aside from getting a worked over automatic.
------
i love the handling on this car... i have to admit i almost hit da curb twice but dats caz i take turns on first gear prolly at around 5000 rpms or more VDC off(taking off from a dead start).. ima such a show off in the streets i just love to make u turns and have the car spin out a bit only to whip da steering wheel left n right very fast n gain control...
---------
that's not a question, and that just means you're a bad driver, heh.
------
also i find 3000 rpms to be a good rpm level to just drop da clutch in first when starting off da line( i have burned rubber a bit searching for the right rpm level)..
------
great, but that also varies very heavily from one tire/tire size to the next. good to have a starting point, though.
------
i can say after reading the tutorial on this website i have mastered down shifting rev matching... even on other cars
------
your clutch thanks you. very much. yep yep.
-----
my car is totally stock.. not even rims (yet).. i just got my money for my rims and some 1000 dollars more or less for performance parts
what do you guys suggest?
------
high flow cats, some catback, and a tune. no intakes make any power worth mentioning so far, and those that have managed to eek out some power have sent the maf voltages way out of whack--a bad thing.
--------
someone told me like this
1.intake(what is the best one for racing)
2.exhaust(again same question)
3.?
--------
see above, i guess.
if you really want to make your car all around faster, you'll find the weaknesses and address those first. stopping? pads and tires first, calipers next. brake fade? you're braking too much, too hard. still a problem once you've learned to adapt? bigger disks and start dropping weight from the car. you gain heat dispersion and reduce strain on the brake system. also consider not putting heavy *** rims on the car. the popular sets of 20's found on here, for instance, put a ridiculous amount of excess strain on the car because they add a great deal of rotational mass. google it and figure out why rotational mass has a much greater effect on the car than simply putting the same amount of weight in the back seat of your car.
-------
my plan is to ultimately have a turbo... in around 3 months or so..
so now i need the guidance of my fellow infiniti drivers to help me in my quest for more power!!!
-------
don't even bother. turbocharging the g35 sedan at the low low price of 14k+ (at the moment) is just silly. you can have a dedicated track **** that's faster and more fun to drive in every respect and still have a few grand left over for hookers and blow.
ugaexploder: he kinda did ask how to drive his car. he wants to be faster. the very first mod you should make on every car you own is to the driver.
granted, the OP sounds like he's just looking to floss--and that's fine. that's the bulk of the folks here. I'll say this, though: driving on a road course or even autox beats the hell out of being a hooligan on public roads. I've done both extensively and the reduction in stress from taking part in a sanctioned event lets you concentrate SOOOOOOO much more on driving rather than worrying about being caught, or if there's someone pulling out in front of you down the road.

If you want to be a 'maneuvering' driver, go autox or track...
Your clutch is "stuck" because you're trying to powershift. The car doesn't like powershifting and will slip the clutch to save other parts of the drivetrain.
