Tire question - really need help

Hello,

I've been told several different things, and I figured this would be the best place to get a real answer.

I just bought a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe and there is one problem that has been happening again and again.

The tire pressure light will come on, and stay on, after 20 miles or so of driving on the freeway. It will stay on until I turn the car off. But, once I restart the car, it will disappear...

What do you think the problem could be???

Thanks for any help guys!!

Perhaps I should also mention that I checked the tires and they all have the right amount of air in them. So that is really why I find myself confused.

Have the tires been changed recently? If so, maybe when they did, they may have damaged the TPMS sensors on one of the rims

Or does the car have aftermarket wheels?

if the light comes on with a beep... then it's a low pressure warning. if it comes on with no beep... then there is a malfunction of some sorts. sounds like either a sensor is shot.. or u don't have any sensors even mounted. my winter tires did the same thing after a period of driving... because i simply didn't install any tpms sensors in them.

TPMS Sensor malfunction....?

Chances are you have a sensor malfunction. Most wheel/tire shops don't know
anything about them so you may end up going to the closest Nissan or
Infiniti dealership and discussing the issue with them. They'll be able to pinpoint which tire and how to fix the problem....no cheap/easy fix....
