lol "agricultural"? like a tractor? or a lawn mower? I like the way mine sounds as it is (then again its the first time I've had a V6, been used to turbos most of my life). Your best bet is to probably get an aftermarket exhaust as well as some replacement cats. What car do you have anyway?

There just seems to be a lot of clatter at idle. Maybe it's the cam chain. My engine is the VQ25DD, same block as the VQ35 but 1000 fewer ccs and direct (in cylinder) fuel injection instead of port injection like the 35. The engine rips at anything off idle but idling cold or warm it clatters.
My last car had a RB20DET which purred at idle and ripped on acceleration. I used to love driving with the windows down nest to walls or between buildings But it had belt driven cams.
