Problems filling up

Just a question.
I am having problems filling the gas tank at times.
I know there was a recall for the vent.
Is the vent recall an emissions related item?
I ask because i am over on miles for a general warranty repair.
I have 75,000 on my 04 Coupe.

Hey I had the same issue in my '03 coupe.
Just filled up last night and it was surprising on my gas consumption, then late that night b4 pulling in my driveway I was looking at the gas needle and it was at a quarter less.
I didn't think there was a issue with that but a day later I read your comment...
Wonder if there was a recall. I will look it up.

The fuel hose recall does not affect the ability to fill the tank (unless the hose leaks, which is why there was a recall). There is a TSB about difficult filling of the tank. If your car was under warranty, it would be repaired free, but it won't be now.

My sedan had this problem and the dealership replaced a lot of parts, including the fuel tank, and adjusted the flapper valve. It fixed it for the most part, but the problem still happens on occasion. What I have to do is start filling the tank slowly and then press the nozzle handle more to increase the flow.

Thanks!
That is what I have been doing.
Doesn't happen all the time, seems more so on hot days.

It only happened to me once, I beleive the very first time I filled her up. Turned it to the side a few times while filling up seemed to work. Now I just fill her up like normal.

I had the fuel shutter valve replaced in my coupe some 2 years ago. That resolved the issue of not being able to fill the gas tank. Here is a small portion of the TSB.

Classification: Reference: Date:
FE05-003 ITB05-031 June 14, 2005

FUEL TANK DIFFICULT TO FILL AT TIMES

2003-2005 G35 AND FX;

APPLIED VEHICLE(S): 2003-2005 G35 (V35) and (CV35)
2003-2005 FX (S50)

IF YOU CONFIRM
The fuel tank is intermittently difficult to fill.
ACTION
Replace the shutter valve inside of the fuel tank.
