My friend got kicked out of his house months ago, and when we drove by the house when his rents were out of town they had a sign in the window of their van saying "we're watching you" and another in the lexus "smile, you're on camera" idk if they actually installed surveillance but it kept us away.

lol I park my brand new G on the side of the road on my street with a few BMWs every night.

I love my neighbourhood. We have cameras outside at some places and a very active neighbourhood watch program. I NEVER EVER see anyone that is not supposed to be there so what you are saying is extremely new to me. I am sure I could leave it unlocked with a key on the seat every night and nothing would ever happen.

I would seriously take some pictures and report them if I were you. This way at least when your G does get stolen the police know exactly who they are looking for.

This thread is sketching me out. I live in an apartment complex by my alma mater that houses hundreds of college kids, and from the looks of this thread, I'm screwed. Might as well start saving now for repairs. While the mod bug has bitten, security hasn't even been an afterthought. Now I need to start researching some protection. Fvckin A.

For those who think it will never happen....

I live in a nice community in Tampa and I always keep my G in the garage. I was doing some remodeling and had the garage full of stuff so I kept my G out for one night....at 2:00 in the morning I hear someone banging on my door...my neighbor telling me he just stopped a theft on my car...he saw a punk running away from my car jump into a car parked in my neighbors driveway...when I ran out I saw apparently the theif had tried to cut my front headlight out with a saw and cut open my bumper. Luckily since my neighbor was out walking his dog that was going crazy in the house, he stopped them from getting anything (probably because the dog sensed someone outside). Unfortunately the damage came up to $1600!!!
My neighbor managed to get the license plate and it came up as a stolen vehicle that was stolen a month before...get this....from my neighborhood!! Cops say this always happens cause the kids are out of school so they are out causing trouble.
Good thing I didn't see them I might be in jail now.

I recommend protect your car now, it's better to be paranoid then to have to pay insurance deductibles!!

^ WOW!

Why were they sawing your headlights? wtf?

My old best friend in highschool had some mexicans doing their lawn work. Well his mom left the windows down in her truck. One of them grabbed the garage remote. They came back at night and jacked 3 bikes and $2000 dollars worth of tools. They got away.

They weren't sawing the actual headlight, they cut into the bumper under the headlight so I assumed they were trying to get to the headlight bolts under the bumper to take the lights.

I am not sure why else they would have cut a precise cut under the headlight???

My old car was robbed TWICE in my driveway about 5 years ago. It had way too much custom work, I was at all the car shows, so it was just a matter of time before someone took my plate and/or followed me home. The first time they did about $10k in damage, and the second time was about $3k. They were real crafty too the first time, took pool cushions from my chairs around the pool area and layed them around the car and windows so that no noise was made. Definitely was an inside job of someone that was watching me for a while.

What really freaked me out is someone came back a third time, while I was home, and tried to get into my garage by breaking down the little side door. I went in the garage, yelled while calling the cops, and after that I was really freaked out. I ended up going to get my CCW license and now I'm protected by all sorts of goodies from Glock, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and others. My Glock .45 with 4 clips of Federal Hydra Shock HP's are always in reach at night.

Damn that sucks man. Scottsdale is a nice area, unfortuantly all the low lifes know there's a lot of easy pickings up there too.. I'm out in 'copa and been parking my car outside for a year (garage was full of stuff, finally couldn't take it anymore seeing my poor car outside all the time). Always felt pretty safe about it for a few reasons. 1) insurance so meh, if it's stolen just means a new one lol. 2) Hwy patrol officer lives 4 houses down, always leaves his car on the street in plain view. Have to be pretty damn ballsy to start ripping stuff off right in front of that. 3) My neighbors are awesome, if they ever caught anything like that they'd be all over it and probably bring the hammer down harder than I would myself.

In Ahwatukee when my dad still lived there, he had a damn nice ram 1500 hemi, dark blue with chromed out wheels very slick... someone tried to break into it one night and caused about 1800 bucks of damage to the door trying to pop the lock off. For what ever reason they gave up about 30 seconds from driving it away. After that, he installed a few 2000w bulbs on motion sensor... no one ever messed with it again (granted, it did annoy the neighbors once in awhile when a cat would set it off and such). In addition to that, he through up a few cameras that uploaded directly to a personal website that would take pictures every 5 min or so and store about 48hrs worth for records if something ever did happen to it, only cost a few bones.
