Driver side window rolls down 1/4 way sometimes 06 G35 coupe
I have a 2006 G35 coupe. Sometimes when I roll my windows up the driver side window will roll back down a quarter of the way. How do I get it to stop doing that. It get's annoying because I have to roll it up and hold it up for a couple of seconds to get it not to roll down.
Can anyone help me?

The door is fine. I guess I'll just have to call the stealership and see if they know what's going on. It doesn't do it everytime, just sometime.
Hopefully the motor doesn't go out before I figure out what the deal is.
Thanks, I'll keep checking to see if anyone else knows what to do.

Heard of windows going up then back down a lot more than 1/4" and the reset fixed it. For how long that fix worked...don't know.
Could be that button switch in the door jam too that tells window to do that 1/4" thing when door is open/closed even if door is really closed all the way.
Let us know what dealer did to fix yours so we'll now later down the road when we're out of warranty or the ppl who already are.
I've already had both motors and a regulator replaced under warranty due to different issues than yours.
The motors are weak sauce. Revised/improved motors seem much better....so far lol.

Just so people aren't confused the window goes down a quarter of the way down, not a 1/4" down.
I will definetely let you guys know what the dealer says.
yea, let us know...my passanger window does the same thing.....it gets annoying...... seems like a programing error like it just needs to be reset because it works fine when i dont use the one touch up feature.......

thought it was a 1/4" and read your original post wrong. Thanks for stopping any confusion b/c of what I said. Hate when I have days like this...sry bout that

Yeah give us the 411 when all said and done.
That was a sure sign that your motor is going bad. A reset might help, but it will only be short term.
Take it to the dealer and get a new motor before your warranty expires.
My drivers side window did the exact same thing, but I couldn't get the window to close again. The Service dept had to get the window up, and I had to wait two weeks because at the time the motors were on backorder from Japan.
Good luck.

Well I called the dealer and they gave me the response I thought that they would.
He said he didn't know why it would do that, and to bring it in so they could take the panel off and check it out.
Well I was reading the owners manual and it says the windows have a feature that lowers the window if something is in the way. I guess so some idiot doesn't get his hand caught or smashed in the window.
I also noticed while playing with the window switch that you can lock the button by holding it for a few second in the up position if the window is rolled up all the way. Then the window switch does not work at all even if you use the window lock button. To get it to work again you just double click the window in the down position then push it again to get it to work.
So it could be that the door is off a little and when it rolls up it thinks something is in the way and rolls back down. That's probably why the amount of space it rolls down is so large. I mean any normal person could fit an arm through the space.
Kind of sucks if you are trying to protect yourself from something and it gets caught, the window will just roll down for whatever to get you. (Car jackers)
So I guess I will try to find out if my door is off a little, maybe from all the bass from my sub.
I can't explain what else it could be other than the motor giving out. But the window works as good as it did the day I bought it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
